Document Comparison

Any documents can be compared, provided you have converted them to PDF format. Most packages (such as those in Microsoft Office) offer free conversion to PDF under the Save As menu.

Each of your compared files can be as large as 50MB.

Document Comparison is a free service available to anyone. If you don’t have a Datasite project, you can sign up for a free account.

You’ll need to remove any password protection before comparing documents – and remember to re-protect both documents if necessary.

The whole process is online, so you don’t need software.

You’ll instantly be able to identify:

• New words and phrases that have been added to one of the documents
• Words and phrases that have been changed between the different documents
• Words and phrases that have been removed from one of the documents

You’ll see all these differences in a list. Click on any item in the list to jump to its location in the document.

Yes, you can search the list of differences to check on any that you’re expecting to find.

Just click on 'Download Comparison' to download all the changes and differences in a separate file.

Simply toggle the sync button (to the right of each document title) to zoom and scroll both documents together.

For your convenience, Datasite stores a copy of both documents (and the comparison document if chosen) in the My Documents area. These files are personal to you; no other users can access them, and you can permanently delete them anytime.
