Accounting Principles Board

Definition:

The predecessor of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), the former authoritative US accounting body that issued pronouncements on accounting principles known as “APB opinions.” Also referred to as “APB.” 

Note that the UK Auditing Practices Board is also referred to as the APB and is unrelated to the Accounting Principles Board.
