Chaperone Agreement

Definition:

An agreement under the Broker-Dealer rules of the Exchange Act that enables a non-US Broker-Dealer to undertake certain activities in the US markets through an affiliation with a US-registered Broker-Dealer, without itself having to register under the Exchange Act.
