Depository

Definition:

A company or bank that holds securities and/or funds and enables exchanges of those securities and funds. It provides clearing and settlement services, and records Book-Entry changes of ownership of securities. Commonly used to hold depository shares and other securities on the back of which depository receipts are issued and traded. Also known as a depository institution.
