EU Market Abuse Regulation (EU MAR)
Definition:
Regulation (EU) 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 on market abuse, including which aims to increase market integrity and investor protection and enhance the attractiveness of securities markets for capital raising. The EU Market Abuse Regulation (EU MAR) came into effect on July 3, 2016. It contains prohibitions for insider dealing, market manipulation, unlawful disclosure of inside information and provisions to prevent and detect these.
