Eurobonds

Definition:

Any bond issued and traded in countries other than the country in which the currency of the bond is denominated. This means that the bond exists outside the jurisdiction of the central bank that issues the currency in which the bond is denominated. For example, a US dollar denominated bond that is issued by a German company in Spain would be a Eurobond as it is denominated in US dollars but issued outside the United States. It must be noted that this term has no connection to the euro and the prefix is simply used to refer generally to a deposit outside the jurisdiction of that currency’s domestic central bank.
