Fair Market Value

Definition:

The price of an asset or real property as determined through an arm’s-length voluntary transaction between a buyer and seller in a free market. The concept is often used in Indentures and Credit Agreements to prohibit a borrower from disposing of an asset at under-value or buying an asset at over-value.
