Guarantee

Definition:

An agreement whereby a third party accepts or assumes responsibility for the debt, payment, or performance of another party should that other party default on its obligations. The third party’s obligations under the Guarantee are contingent on (as opposed to being independent from) the obligations of the party for which it is providing a Guarantee.
