High Yield Bonds

Definition:

Non-Investment-Grade Bonds that, at the time of purchase, are rated as below Investment Grade by the Ratings Agencies. High Yield Bonds offer higher levels of risk, but also higher levels of return (thus the high Yield). Also known as Junk Bonds.
