Say on Golden Parachutes

Definition:

A corporate law concept whereby a company’s shareholders have the right to vote on executive severance packages received on termination of employment. Under the Dodd-Frank Act, the SEC adopted a requirement that, in the event of a merger or other similar extraordinary transaction, Public Companies solicit an advisory vote on certain Golden Parachute compensation that is triggered by the transaction.
