Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)

Definition:

In the United States, a standard set of business laws that regulate contracts, developed by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and the American Law Institute. Most US states have adopted the UCC, which consists of nine articles governing banking and loans. The UCC does not apply to security interests or liens in real estate.
