Reference Rate

Definition:

A moving rate, such as EURIBOR, HIBOR, LIBOR, SIBOR, RPI, or CPI, on which a Floating Rate security or Interest Rate Swap, is based. For example, the interest on a Floating Rate security can be assessed at 2% above LIBOR on a particular date.
